Hoobsy and Dubsy in the classroom

The 3rd grade class teacher of my son Julius, Mrs. Reil, invited me to share my experiences as an author. During the school year, the students learned how to write stories and articles, so they are actually author colleagues. I had the opportunity to meet the class on February 6th, 2012. The students were interested listening to my experiences, especially how everything started. They also asked good questions. We together could relate the Hoobsy and Dubsy stories to what they have learned during the school year. I read the "Baking" story to the kids. It was interesting to see how the kids explored ideas how it could end. It was a pleasure and an honor being in Mrs Reil's class. A coridal thanks goes to Mrs. Reil and her wonderful and bright students.

Book launch in Punxsutawney, PA

I went with my family to Punxsutawney in Pennsylvania, the capital of Groundhog Day. We presented the book the first time ever on the eve of Groundhog Day (February 1st, 2012) and on Groundhog Day (February 2nd, 2012) in Punxsutawney.

Laurie from Punxsutawney was the first buyer. She purchased a copy for her grandson Jack. Laurie did not only buy one of the 50 rare and limited copies of the first edition, but she also bought the first of these copies. Helmut wrote a very special autograph for Jack. Have fun, Laurie and Jack!

There are many other families who bought a copy of the stories with Hoobsy and Dubsy. It was a great experience being in Punxsutawney for Groundhog Day.
